International Arts Festival
When: Thursday 18 June, from 5.00 to 7.30 pm
With 603 EAL students and 59 different languages spoken at Hampstead, our school is a truly special, multicultural, and multilingual community. We are delighted to invite you to our annual celebration, the International Arts Festival at Hampstead School, taking place on Thursday 18 June, from 5.00 to 7.30 pm.
The theme of this year’s festival is Courage.
The evening will feature stalls selling food and artefacts from many countries, run by students and staff. There will also be a vibrant programme of music and drama performances, alongside a poetry recital in a range of languages.
Refugee Week 2026 invites us to explore the theme of courage, and our festival proudly forms part of the Refugee Week celebrations across London. For refugees around the world, including our refugee students here at Hampstead, courage is often a daily necessity. It is the courage to face unknown journeys, learn new languages, form new friendships, begin a new life in a foreign country, navigate unfamiliar systems, adapt to a new environment, or simply wake each morning and step into an uncertain world.
As a School of Sanctuary, it is our responsibility to ensure that refugees feel welcome and supported at Hampstead School.
“We must come together and share the courage to welcome, to stand for what we believe in, and to celebrate culture and community—to be joyful, imagine new possibilities, dream, heal, and connect.”
We look forward to welcoming you on 18 June.
